China has the deepest activewear manufacturing ecosystem — specialised seamless and cut-and-sew factories, performance fabric mills, dye houses and trim suppliers concentrated in a few clusters. That density is what makes fast sampling, wide fabric choice, consistent quality and workable MOQs possible on one program.

Certificates such as OEKO-TEX, BSCI and GRS are held at facility level by the specific factory or mill, not by us. For each program we verify the certificate holder, its scope, validity and production address, so the compliance claim on your product is tied to the facility that actually made it.

With SEAMDANCE, stock programs start at 100 pieces per style with mixed colours and sizes; fully custom development starts from 300 to 500 pieces per style — matched to a facility whose minimums fit your brief.

Quotation within 24 hours of a clear brief. Stock samples ship in 3 to 4 days; custom first samples normally in about 7 days. Bulk lead time depends on quantity and construction, and is confirmed on a milestone plan before you commit.

One approved standard travels with the order: material, measurements, colour, logo, workmanship and packaging are locked against a sealed sample before bulk. In-line and final AQL 2.5 inspection follow — the same standard whichever partner factory runs the style.

Start with the construction and quantity you actually need, then approach facilities that already make that construction at that quantity. Send a short brief rather than a finished tech pack: category, fabric direction, quantities per style and launch date. Ask for a paid sample, the sample terms in writing and the inspection standard that bulk will be accepted against.

One that makes an existing, proven style and puts your branding on it — labels, trims, colours from a stock range — rather than developing a new pattern for you. It is the fastest route to a first collection. The trade-off is less control over fit and fabric; custom development gives that control at higher minimums.

No. A clear brief — category, fabric direction, quantities, target market and launch date — is enough to start a quotation, and reference garments or images can be turned into a specification during development. A tech pack shortens the process and reduces sample rounds when you have one.

Proof that they already make it. Maternity and plus-size ranges are pattern problems first: grading beyond a standard size set, support that adjusts as the body changes, and fabric recovery tested at the larger sizes. Ask for garments they have produced in those size ranges, their grade rules and fit-test method, and judge a graded sample set rather than a single sample size.

A sustainable claim rests on documents rather than words: recycled or organic content backed by transaction certificates for your shipment, and facility certificates you can find in their official registers. An ODM manufacturer offers its own developed styles for you to brand, which is faster and cheaper to start than custom development but gives you less control of fit and fabric.

Vietnam, Pakistan, Cambodia and Bangladesh all make sportswear, but China has the broadest base for technical activewear with fabric mills nearby. An Australian startup can import from China with an ABN and no general import licence for clothing. Alibaba also lists suppliers outside China. Wherever the factory is, audit it or inspect the goods before paying the balance.
