Light support for yoga and Pilates runs compression-style construction and strappy backs. Medium adds firmer bands and wider straps for gym floor work. High support for running means structured bands, adjustable straps and encapsulation or heavy compression — engineering a strappy back cannot deliver. We brief and test against the stated level, on film.
Support levels explainedThe band carries the bra
Most support comes from the underband, not the straps. Fit review checks the band stays level through overhead reach, does not ride up, and holds without gasp-tight pressure — then a filmed 30-second jump or jog set makes bounce control visible before you approve anything.
Fabric and lining choices
Shell fabrics balance hand feel with modulus by support level; powernet linings and bonded under-layers add structure where the design needs it. Removable pads, molded cups or sewn-in options are specified with the pattern, and matching-set colors are approved together with the legging fabric.
Seamless and cut-and-sew bras
Seamless routes produce beautiful light-to-medium studio bras with mapped ventilation. Structured medium-to-high support is cut-and-sew territory with precise panel engineering. Our own factory makes both: cut-and-sew sports bras on the sewing floor, seamless bras on our seamless circular machines. Confirm support construction and any specialist components during sampling.
Sizing strategy and quantities
Alpha sizing (XS–XL) suits light and medium lines; serious high-support positioning eventually needs band/cup logic or extended alpha with graded elastics — decided before pattern work. Stock bra programs start at 100 pieces mixed; custom from 300–500 per style with quotation in 24 hours and AQL 2.5 final inspection.
Sizing and grading guide 07Finding a sports-bra manufacturer for your support level
The support level decides which factories can make the bra at all. Light-support bralettes are within reach of most knitwear sewing lines; high-impact bras need moulding or encapsulation, bonded or powernet-lined bands, adjustable hardware and a factory used to fitting them on bodies in motion. Ask a candidate for bras they have already made at your support level, how they test bounce control and band stability, and where cups, pads and hardware are sourced. Stock programmes start at 100 pieces with samples in 3–4 days; custom development usually starts at 300–500 pieces per style, with a first sample in about 7 days once fabric is agreed.
Support levels explainedWhat you can actually customize
Stock programs from 100 pieces: color from the developed range, your logo method, main and care labels, hangtags, polybag and carton marks. Custom development from 300–500 pieces per style adds fabric platform and weight, color matched to your Pantone reference, pattern and panel lines, waistband and trim construction, size chart and grading. Before you commit we tell you which side of that line a given change falls on — that is usually where the budget is won or lost.
How we de-risk a first order
A free logo mockup before sampling, so you see placement and scale before spending anything. Sample fees are credited back against your first bulk order. And if a fault is ours, we re-make it at our cost. Those are the terms a first program deserves.
What we need before we can quote
A category, a rough quantity per style and a launch date are enough to get a number back within 24 hours. Tech pack, fabric specification or a reference sample shorten the process if you have them. If you have none of it, that is a normal starting point rather than a problem — a reference garment and a target price is where most first collections begin.

01Can one bra work for both yoga and running?
Honestly, no — bounce control for running requires structure studio customers feel as excess. Strong lines run one light and one high-support block sharing a design language.
02Do you develop matching bra and legging sets?
Yes — set fabrics are color-approved together under the same lighting to prevent mismatched outfits, and set programs ship as coordinated deliveries.
03What support testing do you provide?
Filmed overhead-reach, jump and jog tests at fit review, band-behavior checks, and strap/band strength testing on request as part of the agreed test panel.
04Which manufacturers can make high-impact sports bras?
Those with moulding or encapsulation capability, experience with bonded and powernet-lined bands, and a fitting process that tests support in motion rather than on a mannequin. Many factories that sew bralettes well cannot make a high-impact bra; ask for a previous high-impact style and its test method before briefing yours.
05Are there sports bra manufacturers in the USA?
Yes, particularly for small cut-and-sew runs and quick replenishment. Moulded cups, bonding equipment and technical lining fabrics are more widely available in Asian supply chains, which affects what a domestic workshop can offer at a given cost. Choose by the construction your support level requires.
