Private label routeFinding a swimwear manufacturer in China
Swimwear narrows the field quickly: the fabric has to survive chlorine and salt water, elastics and linings have to hold after repeated exposure, and moulded cups need equipment many activewear lines do not run. Ask a candidate for swim styles they have already produced in comparable fabric, how chlorine fastness is tested and to which method, and whether cups, linings and elastics are made in-house or bought in. Private label starts from an existing proven style; custom swimwear follows the same sampling and inspection route as the rest of an activewear range.

02What fabrics are used for performance swimwear?
Chlorine-resistant nylon and PBT blends, quick-dry finishes and UPF sun protection, with recycled nylon options where a sustainability claim is needed. The right blend depends on whether the piece is for competition, training or resort.
03What is the minimum order for custom swimwear?
Stock programs start at 100 pieces per style; fully custom development from 300 to 500 pieces per style, in line with fabric and dye-lot minimums.
04How do I find a swimwear manufacturer in China?
Look for facilities that already produce swimwear in chlorine-resistant fabrics and can show how they test chlorine and salt-water fastness, how linings and elastics hold up, and whether moulded cups are made in-house. Ask for previous swim styles in comparable fabric before briefing yours.
