Men's activewear manufacturer sourcing / 07
Men's activewear cut on a men's block, not resized.
What buyers need to know
Start from a men's block, not a resized women's style.
We source men's activewear manufacturers that develop from men's blocks rather than resizing a women's style. Most men's activewear from women's-focused suppliers is a women's block scaled up. It fails in the same three places every time: torso length, shoulder-to-waist ratio and inseam. Men's development starts from a men's block or it does not work.

Explore programThe block is the whole job
A longer torso, straighter waist, wider shoulder and different rise are not grading adjustments — they are a different pattern. Where a range needs both men's and women's versions of a style, they share the fabric, the color standard and the branding, not the block.
Shorts: liner, inseam and pocket reality
Two-in-one shorts live or die on the liner — compression level, liner length against the shell hem, and whether it rides in a lunge. Inseam length is a positioning decision, not a detail: 5, 7 and 9 inch read as three different brands. Pockets need to hold a phone during a run without swinging, which usually means a zip or a wrap waistband pocket rather than a side seam pocket.
Compression levels explained 04Sweat management and fabric choice
Men's training pieces show sweat more visibly and are washed harder. Fabric selection weighs moisture movement, odor control finishes and — bluntly — how the fabric looks wet in the marketing colorway, which quietly rules out some mid-tone greys.
Nylon vs polyester 05Sizing and grading
Men's alpha sizing carries more spread between S and XXL than women's, and the chest-to-waist drop varies by market — a European grade and a US grade are not the same garment. The size set is agreed against your actual market before the first sample, not after fit comments come back.
Sizing and grading guideQuantities and calendar
Stock men's programs start at 100 pieces mixed; custom development normally from 300–500 pieces per style. Quotation in 24 hours, stock samples in 3–4 days, custom first samples around 7, AQL 2.5 final inspection before shipment.
What you can actually customize
Stock programs from 100 pieces: color from the developed range, your logo method, main and care labels, hangtags, polybag and carton marks. Custom development from 300–500 pieces per style adds fabric platform and weight, color matched to your Pantone reference, pattern and panel lines, waistband and trim construction, size chart and grading. Before you commit we tell you which side of that line a given change falls on — that is usually where the budget is won or lost.
How we de-risk a first order
A free logo mockup before sampling, so you see placement and scale before spending anything. Sample fees are credited back against your first bulk order. And if a fault is ours, we re-make it at our cost. Those are the terms a first program deserves.
What we need before we can quote
A category, a rough quantity per style and a launch date are enough to get a number back within 24 hours. Tech pack, fabric specification or a reference sample shorten the process if you have them. If you have none of it, that is a normal starting point rather than a problem — a reference garment and a target price is where most first collections begin.

“I wasn't short of suppliers. I didn't know what to decide first.”

“The factory kept tweaking individual sizes. Nobody was managing the size range.”
Read the case01Can you just grade up my women's styles for men?
We can, and we will advise against it. Scaling a women's block gives a short torso and a narrow shoulder that customers feel immediately even if they cannot name it.
02Do men's programs carry a higher minimum?
No — the same 100-piece stock entry and 300–500 custom range apply. The practical constraint is that a men's size run spreads across more sizes, so plan the size ratio carefully at that quantity.
03Can I launch a small men's capsule alongside my women's line?
Yes, and it is the sensible way in — three or four styles sharing the women's fabrics and color standard, so the capsule reads as one brand without a second development cycle.
